Thank you so much , Chloé for your interesting and personal view on community, your dedication to the art de l’apéritif or as the French would say: l’apéro !

The topic of community did make me reflect on what it means to me. I think that the movie Nomadland is a beautiful and poignant portrait of what a community can be. I guess my sense of community is close to that. May be because my family was uprooted from Algeria , I always felt that I belonged nowhere and everywhere. To me, community is about shared meaning. It’s a safe place where people can be heard and respected at the deepest level of our common humanity. A place where culture is fluid and alive and not stereotyped and frozen. Our polarized culture, lost at sea, is struggling to find common meaning. With Covid 19, technology and communities are closely knit together. People need to communicate no matter what the circumstances are. To be part of a community is I agree, Chloé, a commitment. And to that I raise my glass of Kir.

Thank you also for the delightful drawings and photographs.
